Lifting of PDS Rice and Dal continues for public distribution

Imphal, June 19 2020: To ensure that the people of the State are provided PDS items, the State Government continues lifting of rice and Dal allocated for public distribution in certain Assembly constituencies of the State.

A total of 567.60 quintal of rice under NFSA was lifted in Churachandpur district today.

The lifted rice includes 395.60 quintal for Thanlon (Mualnuam) AC and 172 quintal for Henglep AC.

Another 1414.85 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was also lifted for Henglep AC .

In Imphal East district, 2532.05 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted today consisting of 1440.05 quintal for Keirao AC and 1092 quintal for Yaiskul AC respectively.

Both the ACs has completely lifted the allocated quantities for the month of June.

In respect of Dal, 332 quintal for the month of May was also lifted today in Imphal East district.

The lifted Dal are 84.92 quintal for Andro AC, 82.77 quintal for Lamlai AC, 75.74 quintal for Khundrakpam AC and 88.57 quintal for Heingang AC.

All these four ACs have completely lifted the allocated Dal for May.

It is also reported that Jiribam AC in Jiribam district also lifted 2003.25.000 quintal of rice under NFSA and 297.95.000 quintal under PMGKAY from FCI godown, Jiribam today.

Under PMGKAY scheme, Kumbi AC in Bishnupur East district lifted 1611.65 quintal of rice on 17.06.2020 .

The AC has lifted completely the allocated quota for the month of June.

On the same day, Nungba AC of Noney district and Tamenglong AC in Tamenglong district had lifted 589.95 and 1150 quintal of rice under PMGKAY from FCI godown, Sangaiprou, while 47.66 and 96.75 quintal of Dal had been lifted for Nungba and Tamenglong ACs respectively from FCI godown, Koirengei.

The State Government has been lifting PDS rice and Dal under PMGKAY to ensure none to suffer on account of non-availability of foodgrains on the backdrop of the outbreak of COVID-19 and the ongoing lockdown in the State.
