Seminar on medicinal plant

Health Minister L Jayentakumar today stated that the State Government will extend possible assistance in promoting medical plants available in the State.
Speaking at the one day seminar on women's role on medicinal plants and interactive meet on medicinal plants with growers and scientists, Health Minister L Jayentakumar said, "According to scientists and experts, more than 500 medicinal plants are found in the State.
In the past, medicinal plants were used to treat various types of ailments.
In order to promote natural remedies to treat diseases and other ailments, the State Government is also making effort to help the farmers" .
The seminar was organised by Manipur State Medicinal Plants Board, Directorate of AYUSH at State Guest House, Sanjenthong.
Parliamentary Secretary Soibam Subaschandra and Health Director Dr K Lokendro were also present at the programme.
