Medical conference organised at RIMS

The first Mind, Body and Medicine Conference on the theme 'Heal the Healers' was held at RIMS Jubilee Hall today with the inaugural ceremony graced by Labour and Employment Minister I Hemochandra as the chief guest.
The conference was a joint initiative of Indian Medical Association, Manipur State branch and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.
As chief guest of the conference opening, I Hemochandra noted that as some health problems are closely linked to mental state of the particular patient meditation is being prescribed by professionals to overcome these problems.
Further stating that a healthy mental state is an important factor for good physical health, the chief guest, however regretted that prevailing environment in the strife-torn Manipur is not conducive for a stable living thereby affecting the mental state of the citizens.
The Minister also applauded the conference organisers for their vision on the need to combine treatment through both medicines and meditations.
The event attended by about 650 medical practitioners also had an interactive session on the 'heal the healers' theme.
Among others, RIMS Director Dr S Sekharjit Singh; Mount Abu Medical Wing executive secretary Dr Banarsilal Sah; Global Hospital, Mumbai's medical director Dr Ashok R Mehta,; GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi's consultant cardiologist Dr Mohit Gupta; fortis Hospital, Mumbai's senior cardiologist Dr Ratan Rathod; ORC, Gurgaon's programme coordinator BK Ranjana Ji; and IMA Manipur State Chapter's president Dr Kh Palin also attended the conference.
