The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has claimed that a special team of its People's Liberation Army (PLA) launched an offensive against 24 Assam Rifles post near Saibol village in Chandel district on September 17 around 8 pm.
Besides, the special team of the PLA general headquarters, with all its skills and manoeuvre inflicted casualties to another adversaries on their return after the attack on 24 AR post.
A statement issued by the Chief, Department of Publicity of RPF, Bangkim said no casualties were suffered by its special team in the twin gunfights.
The attack was part of the outfit's war of independence for Manipur, the RPF claimed while reaffirming its resolute pledge not to give up arms until the goal of liberation is achieved.
The RPF statement also acknowledged the contributions of the PLA cadres and others towards the independence war.
The PRO (IG AR) has however denied any such incident or any casualty.
