Imphal, July 18 2014 :
The State Government has recognised/empanelled Raj Medicity (formerly known as Raj Polyclinic) as a referral hospital for the purpose of medical treatment of State Government employees and their dependant family members in 16 faculties.
Speaking to reporters, Raj Medicity Managing Director Haobijam Rajen said that the State Government had earlier empanelled Shija Hospitals and Sky Hospital as referral hospitals but only for single faculty.
He said that patients can now directly rush to Raj Medicity without any referral advice from any hospital.
Rajen added that the State Government is also processing for recommendation to the Central Government for empanelment of Raj Medicity as a referral hospital for Central Government employees posted in Manipur.
He said that the management of the hospital has also decided to provide 20 per cent discount to media persons and their dependent family members under Medical Attendance Rules 1994 through All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) .
Saying that the hospital has been providing free treatment to extremely needy people, Rajen said that it would continue in future as well.
It may be mentioned that the hospital was opened on February 25, 2004 as 35-bedded clinic.
