Missing boy found dead

Bishnupur, March 18 2021:
In a tragic turn of event, the eight-year-old boy who went missing since March 15 at Bishnupur district has been found dead today.
The lifeless body of the boy was found by some workers at the confluence of Loklao river and Khuga river at around 12.30 pm.
The boy, identified as Laishram Avinash was son of Laishram Anand and Laishram ongbi Sophia of Torbung Govindpur Mamang Leikai.
The minor was allegedly taken away by an unidentified person on March 15 while he was playing with two of his friends.
After receiving reports of the presence of the body, Superintendent of Police of Churachandpur district, P Amitram and Bishnupur district SP, Priyadarshini Laishram along with a team of Forensic Science experts inspected the site.
Later, Bishnupur police recovered the body for postmortem.
Meanwhile, Moirang Police Station has registered a case and started investigation.
On the other hand, a Joint Action Committee has been formed and its leader M Kumari Leima has stated that the death of the boy is mysterious and he may have been killed and abandoned there.
The Government and its agencies concerned should investigate and arrest the culprits involved.
Those found responsible for the death should be given befitting punishment, she said.
