Indian Customs EDI System launched at ICP Moreh

Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Chairman, Vivek Johri on Friday virtually launched the Indian Customs EDI System at Integrated Check Post (ICP), Moreh.
The event was attended by Customs Preventive Northern Region Shillong, Commissioner, GM Kamei, IRS; Integrated Check Post Moreh, Manager, T Baite; Land Custom, SP, SK Gangte; Customs Preventive Force Moreh, SP, MA Saha; and Tengnoupal District Police, Additional SP, Yumnam Premjit among others.

Speaking on the occasion, GM Kamei stated that the Indian Customs EDI System is designed to exchange/transact customs clearance related information electronically using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) .
Stating that the new fully-automated, quick and paperless system would improve customs clearance and inspection procedures, GM Kamei urged all the traders in Moreh to avail the benefits of Indian Customs EDI System.
