Imphal, June 17 2018: Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organized a "Cleanliness and Sanitation Drive" in village Thangbung Minou, Tengnoupal District on 17 Jun 2018 .

The village people were educated on the importance of keeping the surroundings clean.

One officer from the Battalion highlighted that Cleanliness and Sanitation is not only about keeping clean, removing dirt and dust but also about protecting the environment and its local resources.

He urged the people to reduce the harmful effects of Pollution and take adequate Sanitation practices in order to improve health and hygiene and promote sustainable development.

The event was a great success and it was participated by 15 males, 06 females and 14 children.

Tea and snacks were also served to the participants at the culmination of the said event.

On behalf of the village, the chief thanked Assam Rifles for organising such enlightening and educative event.
