Speaking to media persons at his residence today, the newly elected MP said that budgetary allocation for the Jiribam-Imphal railway project has been raised from Rs 300 crore to about Rs 10,000 crore since NDA came to power.
After the ongoing first phase is completed, the railway network would be further extended to Moreh in the second phase.
Survey for the second phase is nearly complete.
Once the railway project is fully completed, the country will have railway link with neighbouring Myanmar through Imphal and Moreh, Dr Ranjan said.

NDA Government's annual budget envisages improvement of infrastructure in inland waterway, education, tourism and health sectors under DoNER Ministry and NEC.
However, as the previous Governments did not submit utilisation certificates to DoNER Ministry and NEC for 12 years, the State is unable to apply to the Ministry for new projects.
Nonetheless, the Government has been exploring all possible remedial measures on the matter, said the Lok Sabha MP.
Talking about National Sports University, Dr Ranjan said that he has already raised the matter in the Lok Sabha and there is no question of shifting the university to any other State.
Dr Ranjan said that he talked with the Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju by the sideline of an NEC meeting and Rijiju assured he would see that courses like Sports Science, Sports Management etc would be opened at NSU Imphal.
Rijiju further assured he would see that walk-in interview for recruitment of staff for NSU Physical Education Department is held at Imphal.
The NDA Government has set a target of boosting the country's economy from Rs 2.7 trillion to Rs 5 trillion.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA Government is set to take the country to a path of rapid economic development by strictly following the doctrine of 'reform, perform and transform', Dr Ranjan said.
This year's Union Budget has been focusing on development of surface communication, physical and social infrastructure, massive reforestation, control water and air pollution, he said.
The budget gives special emphasis on making the country not only self-sufficient in food grains but also on making it a surplus country.
Further, the NDA Government has been working to expand its space programme and boost telecommunication, education and information technology sectors.
The budget also aims at making the Ayushman Bharat scheme more comprehensive, he added.
