CADA conducts anti-drug awareness programme

As part of its ongoing awareness campaign on the "impact of drugs on the students" with the objectives of maintaining a healthy society, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) organised an awareness session at Pangaltabi High School in Thoubal district today.
Laishram Gopimohon, Head Master of Pangaltabi High School and Dipanjit Ningthoujam, Secretary General CADA graced the programme as presidium members, while Advocate Y.Ratankumar, Acting Chairman Human Rights Initiative (HRI) and Geetchandra Mangang, Secretary Information & Publicity, CADA attended as resource persons.
In his speech, resource person Ratankumar said the various types of drugs being brought into the State are to eliminate the people of the land, and added that generation of drugs awareness from childhood will keep the youths from drug abuse.
While saying that people of urban area are more affected by drugs than those belonging to the rural area, he asserted that prevention of drug abuse is the responsibility of all people.
Mayengbam Budhi, Vice President CADA Tbl Dist Committee said, "as women have more responsibilities in preventing drugs abuse, we need to encourage women to fight against the menace" .
In his address, Dipanjit, while expressing apprehension that the nation might get eliminated due to the increasing drugs use by the youths, appealed to all concerned to take responsibility for saving the nation.
