Houses torched

Jiribam, June 14 2024:
Two more houses belonging to Meetei families have been set ablaze at Bhutangkhal in restive Jiribam, today, reports JNN.
Reportedly, the arsonists, suspected to be Hmars, torched the two houses at around 2 am.
Bhutangkhal falls under Borobekra Sub-Division.
The ill-fated houses belonged to Senjam Sanatomba Meitei (61) and Wahengbam Moinababu Singh (60) .
Speaking to the media, S Sanatomba said that they were made to leave their places at Bhutangkhal by Assam Rifles some days back on account of the situation in the district.
He said that they have left behind all their properties and cattle at their houses.
One house belonging to a Meetei family at Narayanpur under Jakuradhore Part 1 was also bombed by Kuki militants on June 12 at around 11 pm .
