Platinum jubilee celebration of Poumei Naga Baptist Association (PNBA)

Imphal, December 13 2012: The valedictory ceremony of platinum jubilee celebration of Poumei Naga Baptist Association (PNBA) was held at Maiba village today with Maiba Baptist Church hosting the celebration.

According to Maiba village chief VS Veikho the celebration actually started from December 11 and added that the first Baptist Church of the Poumeis was set up at Maiba village.

It is said that a total of 7000 delegates from 80 churches took part at the platinum jubilee celebration.

The village also informed that Karong AC MLA Alexander Pao took the initiative to complete repairing of Koide-Maiba village road in time for the celebration.

Highlight of the valedictory function was solemnisation of two Maiba villagers embracing Christianity faith and presentation of gifts to the duo by the Karong MLA.

Along with conversion of the two Maiba village has 100 percent Christian population.

MLAs K Thamarjit (Keirao) and Th Shyamkumar (Andro) also attended the celebration.
