Woman dies, family suspect murder

Imphal, October 13 2015: A woman died under controversial cir-cumstances at Kairang Umang Leikai, Imphal East district under Heingang police station this morning.

The woman identified as Sajina (25) w/o Md Sajid Khan was declared brought dead at JNIMS at around 5.58 am.

Sajina was rushed to the hospital as she did not respond to repeated attempts to wake her up.

However, her parental family of Keirao Makting Awang Leikai Major Ingkhol have voiced strong suspicion about possible murder.

According to the family, they were informed about Sajina being taken to hospital at around 7 am.

"But when we reached JNIMS, we were told that Sajina had died and her body taken home", said one of them.

On reaching Kairang, due preparations were underway for the burial rites.

As the parental family reported the matter immediately to Heingang police station, the corpse was taken back to JNIMS morgue.

Injury marks were seen on Sajina's back and her nose was bleeding.

She left behind a two years and six months old daughter.

There was a family crisis when Sajina's husband Md Sajid Khan s/o Manoj brought home a girl belonging to his locality.

Enraged by Sajid's extra-marital affairs, Sajina's parents took her to their home on September 27.Sajina was taken back to her in-laws home by her sisters-in-laws on October 8.A case has been registered at Heingang police station in connection with the controversial death.
