Training on "School health & wellness programme" begins

The 4-days training programme on "School health & wellness programme" organised by Directorate of SCERT Lamphelpat in collaboration with State Health Society and Education (S) Manipur under Ayushman Bharat began on Monday at SCERT office in Lamphelpat.
The inaugural programme was attended by SCERT, Head of Office, Jim Golden Thingujam; SCERT, Joint Director, Khulem Ashok; Lecturer, Rajeshwor Sharma; Programme Co-ordinator, Dr Yumana Nandini Devi and Th Kenila Devi of School Education Department as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Jim Golden Thingujam informed that the 4-days training programme was organised for teachers of Wangoi Block under Ayushman Bharat.

He stated that Ayushman Bharat, also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) is a healthcare scheme to help the economically weaker section of the society.
The health insurance scheme providing Rs 5 lakh coverage to every family per year was rolled out on September 23, 2018 by the Prime Minister, he added.
He also mentioned that PMJAY will aim to cater to about 10 crore families as per the Socio-economic Caste Census, 2011 while adding that the Health & Wellness centres will provide facilities including child health care, mental health, rehabilitative, medicines, diagnostic service, emergency and trauma.
"As of March 2022, a total of 1,17,440 Health & Wellness centres have been established in the country", said Jim Golden Thingujam while adding that more centres would be established by December this year.
Elaborating on key reforms to boost primary health care provided by Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres, he mentioned that the training programme was conducted to promote primary healthcare through school education.
