Baichung mesmerises Ukhrul football lovers

Imphal, June 13 2011: Ace football player Baichung Bhutia mesmerised the football players and denizens of Ukhrul district during a football clinic organised by 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under Hqs IGAR(S) at Somsai yesterday.

The International footballer impressed the packed gathering by displaying his football skills.

Baichung Bhutia reciprocated the overwhelming response with a promise to visit Ukhrul again.

The district has produced many footballers who are currently playing in different clubs at the National level.

Footballs were distributed to the club teams of Ukhrul at the venue.

Commander of 10 Sector AR, Commandant of 17 AR, Capt (Retd) Tipnis, Tennyson of VVD and President UDSA Sira Ragui were present at the occasion.

Commander of 10 Sector in his address declared to sponsor one youth from Ukhrul for education and training at a football academy as an incentive to the football loving people of Ukhrul.

The football clinic was a huge success with the Ukhrul youngsters wanting for more such events to be organised.

Baichung acknowledged the endeavours of Assam Rifles towards the society and its development, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
