COTA rolls back exam boycott stand

Imphal, February 13 2020: Considering the appeals from various student organisations and concerned parents, CSOs and the Chairman of COHSEM, the Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has announced that it will refrain from its plan to boycott the Class X and XII examinations.

A statement issued by the association mentioned that an emergency meeting was held at Shyamasakhi High School, Moirangkhom today and added that in the larger interest of the student community, COTA has decided to exempt the examinations from the purview of its agitation.

However, COTA's agitation will continue in other forms without disturbing the examination atmosphere.

In the event of failure on part of the Government to address its demand on a positive note by the end of the Class X and XII examinations, COTA warned that it will resort to extreme forms of agitation.

Any consequences arising out of the situation will be the sole responsibility of the Government, it cautioned.
