Distribution of PDS rice continues in the State

Imphal, May 12 2020: Distribution of PDS rice allocated for the month of May, continues in the State.

In Imphal West District, 2,270.7 quintal of rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) was distributed to the beneficiaries of the district today covering 14,281 households and under Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) of 52 quintal covering 512 households.

The distribution is undertaken to ensure no one suffers on account of non-availability of foodgrain on the backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak and the ongoing nationwide lockdown.

In Thoubal district, 2,120 quintal of rice under National Food Security Act (NFSA) was distributed to the beneficiaries of Wangkhem AC.

PDS rice allocated for the month of May was also lifted from various FCI godowns located in different parts of the state today.

In Imphal West, 1,419.35 quintal and 1,430.8 quintal under PMGKAY for Uripok and Patsoi AC respectively were lifted.

There was also lifting of 1,070 quintal under NFSA for Thoubal AC and Kakching district reported lifting of 1,523.27 quintal of rice under PMGKAY and 139.45 quintal under OMSS from FCS godown, Sangaiprou for Hiyanglam AC.

Lifting of 1700.57 quintal of rice under NFSA was also done for Tadubi AC of Senapati district from Ningthoupham godown, Senapati.

For Jiribam A/C, 1,018.98 quintal of rice under NFSA and 1,333.03 quintal under PMGKAY was lifted from Jiribam FCI Godown.

Tamei AC of Tamenglong lifted 70 quintal of rice under NFSA from FCS godown, Sangaiprou.

In respect of Noney District, 924 quintal of rice under PMGKAY was lifted for Nungba AC while 417.60 quintal under NFSA and 99.40 quintal under PMGKAY was lifted on May 11 for the AC.

Lamlai AC of Imphal East lifted 424.35 quintal of rice under OMSS and 1,918.05 quintal under NFSA on May 11 .

Kangpokpi District also reported lifting of 2166.20 quintal of rice under NFSA on the same day.
