Imphal, April 12 2013 : After lying unclaimed for seven days in the mortuary of JNIMS since her death on April 5, the body of Ningombam Satyabama has been taken by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the killing today.

The JAC said that it has agreed to take the body in consideration of the pain and suffering being endured by her family and it has nothing to do with any agreement with the Government, which has not yet fulfilled any of the demands placed before it earlier.

Earlier during the day, the JAC held a meeting with representatives of various social organizations at Kakwa Community Hall.

During the meeting, it was decided to take the body of Satyabama for performing the last rites due to a departed soul.
