Imphal, February 12 2025:
The Village Protection Force (VPF) Sinam has appealed to all the MLAs to set aside their political differences and elect a competent leader of the State Government at the earliest.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, VPF Control Office Sinam advisor Heikrujam Rajeshwar expressed anguish over the prevailing political situation in the State following the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and urged all the MLAs to forgo their personal interest and do what is right for the people of Manipur.
Stating that the MLAs need to remember the circumstances which compelled the youth who should be going to schools and colleges to take up arms, he said, "Many village volunteers are still camping in the cold winter to defend innocent and helpless villagers from the attacks of Kuki militants".
He asserted that the prevailing political situation of the State has created fear and apprehension among the public and village volunteers about their future.
"It is high time for all the ruling MLAs to set aside their personal interest and elect a competent leader of the Government who will work to protect the people and territorial integrity of Manipur", he added.
He also cautioned that if any untoward incident or anything detrimental happens to the people and village volunteers happens due to the prevailing political turmoil, all the MLAs will be held responsible.
Furthermore, Rajeshwar called for collective effort to protect the people and territorial integrity of Manipur.
