Computer lab inaugurated

Senapati DC Jacintha Lazarus inaugurated a 30 capacity computer laboratory at Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Sapormeina during the school's annual Parents' Day cum Prize Distribution event held at the school premises today.
The DC graced the occasion as chief guest while Chongpu Kipgen, Chief Executive Officer, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, L Pishak Singh, Assistant Director, TA & Hills, Saitu-Gamphazol and Major Pankaj Giri, 25 Assam Riffles, Sapormeina Post, attended as guests of honour and special guest respectively.
Feedbacks on the administration and functioning of the school from parents/guardian and distribution of various prizes in the field of academic, sports and extra curricular activities were the main highlights of the event.
Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Gamnom Sapormeina in Sadar Hills is one among the three Eklavya schools in the State.
The first session of the school began this year under the active supervision of the Managing Committee headed by Jacintha Lazarus.
The three Eklavya schools in the State have been functioning under the initiative of the Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
The schools are managed and run by the Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Government of Manipur.
Other than the new computer lab, solar lighting was installed earlier in the school under the initiative of the Nodal Officer Armstrong Pame.
