Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has wished the people of the State on the auspicious and sacred occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami 2020 .

His timeless teaching of karma to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra signifies the worship of work and carrying out one's duties without any expectation of reward.
It also symbolises the essence of truth and will forever remain the guiding principle of mankind.
On this day, let us remind ourselves of the teachings of Lord Krishna and propagate love and affection for all and usher in an era of peace and prosperity in Manipur," the Governor said in her message to the people.
Following the Governor, Chief Minister N Biren Singh also sent his greetings to the people on the occasion.
"I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of the State especially our Hindu brothers and sisters on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami..
On this auspicious day celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, let us strive to free our minds and deeds of evil and fill them with compassion, sharing and love.
May Lord Krishna bless our lives with peace, prosperity and happiness," said N Biren Singh.
Y Khemchand, Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly also wished the people happiness and joy on the occasion.
Works Minister, Th Biswajit Singh also wished the people on the occasion.
Janmashtami reminds us of the eternal message of Lord Krishna through Bhagavad Gita, affirming the foundation for building a harmonious society.
This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted the entire world, presenting an unprecedented challenge for all.
Let this festival once again inspire the people to put up a collective fight to defeat this pandemic.
Biswajit also called on the people to follow SOP like maintaining social distance, wearing masks, avoiding large gatherings.
