Oral hygiene week concludes

The Oral Hygiene Week celebration organised by Department of Periodontics and Department of Public Health Dentistry Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, has come to an end at RIMS Jubilee hall today.
Dr Sinam Subhaschandra Singh, while giving his keynote address, said that oral hygiene plays an important role in maintaining good health.
Pregnant women need dental check-up before child delivery, he added.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, RIMS Director Dr S Sekharjit singh said that dental doctors must take proactive role in spreading awareness to people residing both in rural and urban areas.
RIMS College of Nursing Principal Prof H Jamuna, who attended the function as guest of honour, said that oral hygiene is a part of total health.
RIMS Dental College Principal Dr B Praveen Reddy attended the function as president.
Prizes for poster and healthy smile contests were also distributed during the function.
The gathering also observed a two-minute silence to mark respect to late Dr Y Iboyaima.
