Pro-ILPS movement: No let up in protests

Demonstrations demanding ILPS in the State continued.
Womenfolk of Thangmeiband area shut down shops run by non-Manipuris at Thangmeiband Polem Leikai area.
It may be mentioned that local clubs and meira paibis of Thangmeiband have imposed a ban on shops and business establishments run by the non-Manipuris.
They maintained that the ban will be effective till the ILP system is imposed in Manipur.
Protesters also shut down the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Imphal West situated at Khoyathong.
Khongnangpokpi Village Authority and Indigenous Minorities Organisation Manipur (IMOM), Senapati, Lamshang Bazar Apunba Nupi Khunai Lup, Nongchup Imphal Meira Paibi Lup and Progressive Youth Association, Lamshang Bazar staged a sit-in and human chain protest at their respective village.
Locals of Senjam Khunou and Senjam Chadong along with CADA president Y Ratankumar held a sit-in protest at three different locations which was followed by a protest rally.

A large number of people of Moirangpuren, Moirangpuren-2, Etham, Nongdam-Tangkhul, Leisiphung ceased their day's activities and staged a sit-in protest under the aegis of VDC, Moirangpuren yesterday.
In support of the people's demand for ILP spearheaded by JCILPS, students of the RUDA Academy, Thoubal today staged a human chain protest at Thoubal Wangmataba Thongkhong.
The students initially conducted a protest rally holding placards inscribed with slogans like 'Implement ILP in the State', 'Terminate the police personnel involved in the killing of Robinhood' before they assembled for the human chain protest at Thoubal Wangmataba Thongkhong.
A sixteen feet tall effigy of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi was burnt at the main road of Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai today by the Apunba Nupi Meira Lup and YPAC club volunteers as part of the people's protest for ILP.
Protesters raising slogans like 'Implement ILP in the State', 'Police personnel involved in the killing of Robinhood should be removed' etc burnt the effigy of the CM freezing vehicular movements for about a quarter of an hour.
Meanwhile sit-in-protests demanding implementation of ILP continued at different parts of Imphal today as well.
The protests were seen at Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai organised by Lamabam Leikai Nupi Lup and Nupi Lup of Haobam Marak; Lairenkanbi Maning Leikai, Uripok Kangchup road organised jointly by 12 different organisations namely - Lairen Shajik Apunba Nupi Lup, Kaotruk Meira Paibi, Kadangbam Apunba Nupi Lup, Chiru Women Society, Lairenkabi Apunba Nupi lup, Phayeng Apunba Nupi Lup, Lambal Meira Paibi, Lamlongei Sabal Meira Paibi, Lamlongei Mamang Apunba Nupi Lup, Lairen Shajik Meira Paibi, Tera Urak Meira Paibi and Sanjenbam Apunba Nupi Lup.
Meanwhile, United Social Amateur Club, Lilando Lampak and meira paibi of Kakwa Lilando Lampak donated monetary aids to the family of (L) Sapam Robinhood and other protesters who were severely injured in police actions.
