Imphal, August 10, 2012: The victims of the Tata Sumo accident on July 20 between Shangrung and Tamenglong were compensated at the office if the Zeliangrong Youth Front on August 8 by the adhoc Relief Committee of the incident with the initiative of ZYF.

According to a ZYF statement, Rs 10,000 each were given to the five deceased victims' families while Rs 4,000 each were given to the seven injured victims.

Meanwhile, the ZYF has also urged the Government authority to repair the bad road condition of the stretch between Khongshang and Tamenglong.

It further strongly warned the ticket booking counters to stop excess allotment of seats beyond vechicles' capacity.

It also asked all passenger vehicles between Imphal-Tamenglong, Imphal-Jiribam or vice versa to stop service immediately in case they did not possess valid passengers insurance policy while urging the authority concerned to check whether the vehicles have proper insurance.
