The native Villagers of Sahamphung sub-divisional block headquarter has urged the concerned contractor to suspend and halt the land development work for the construction of office complex and quarter for SDO/BDO, until the formal agreement of land donation deed is signed with DC office Kamjong and land owners.
Briefing the Ukhrul media persons, the headman of Sahamphung village, K Angkhang reacted strongly against the ulterior motive of Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing and alleged that instead of helping the poor villagers, the MLA in collusion with the private work agency 'Paman Enterprises' continued to mount pressure on the Village Authority to allow execution of the work.
It might be mentioned that the estimated cost for construction of SDO/BDO office and quarter is Rs 2.05 crores awarded to Paman Enterprises by the State Government in 2018.K Angkang further alleged that the MLA has even threatened the headman verbally on different occassion in connection with the construction of SDO/BDO office and quarter and added that he completely ignored the concerns of the villagers and did not pressurise the department concerned to expedite the process of donation deed agreement in the interest of villagers, land owners in particular.
He said Sahamphung sub-divisional block was upgraded in 2013 and is smoothly running the office.
Headman Kaphaoleng said that the villagers have donated 30 hectares of land for the construction and development of Sahamphung TD block headquarter and SDO office complex to the State government and added that most of the necessary procedures for land donation has been completed.
He further clarified that their is no land dispute to the areas, however, the land owners are awaiting signing of donation deed with DC office Kamjong at the earliest in order to expedite the process of developmental programme.
The villagers warned the Paman Enterprises to stop the construction work, failing which Paman Enterprises would held responsible if any untoward happen to them.
