Imphal, September 08 2022: Three people were killed while four others sustained critical injuries when a car crashed on a road divider on Tiddim Road at Ghari Awang Leikai under Lamphel police station at around 10.30 pm yesterday.

All seven of them were travelling in the same car (Maruti Swift) .

The deceased have been identified as Konthoujam Bimolchand (35) s/o Raghumani of Sagolband Sayang Kurao Makhong, Thokchom Boy (35) s/o late Lokeshore of Sagolband Sayang Kurao Makhong and Potsangbam Punshiba (35) s/o Ibomcha of Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai.

The seven were heading toward Imphal when they saw another car (Maruti Swift) coming out of the road leading to the FCI godown.

As they tried to avoid the second car, they crashed on the road divider with full force.

The dead bodies have been handed over to their respective families after post mortem at RIMS.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Lamphel police station in connection with the incident.
