Imphal, September 08 2011: With regard to the surrender ceremony held on September 7 at Leimakhong headquarters of 57 Mountain Division and reported in this daily, United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) president Ishael said 'UTLA general secretary Siehzahau T Singsit was not among the cadres of different armed groups who laid down arms.

Dismissing the report as baseless and unfounded, Ishael in a statement said, 'when I was announcing press release, my secretary was with me and he was not meeting any press or media for interview.

There is no question of him surrendering, but as general secretary, he is a dignitary for pursuing our organisation to accept the Centre and State government's invitation, so that we come under suspension of operation' .
