Imphal, March 08 2017: Even though the Election Commission of India (ECI) promised a simple reward for the first individuals to cast their vote in the second phase of the 11th State Assembly election held in 22 ACs as a form of encouragement and motivation to exercise one's voting rights, some of the polling stations have not provided any kind of incentives to the voters.

Some first voters have told The Sangai Express that even when they showed proof of voting first, the concerned authorities have declined to reward them saying that there is nothing to give.

One of the first voters said that no reward or incentive was given despite the promise adding that he wanted to know and be sure if any kind of rewards were given to the first voters of the first phase polls.

One of the first voters of Heirok AC also said that he wanted to know what was given to the first voters and in which polling station, during the first phase of the election by the ECI .
