Coronation ceremony of new village chief of Aimol Khunyai village held

Tengnoupal, February 08 2019: Kh Kholian Ngir, 'Yakusung' (2nd Chief) of Aimol Khunyai village in Tengnoupal district has been elevated to the post of "Kamsakoi" (Village chief), after the demise of former Village chief Jirneiluo Songthu in a simple ceremonial function held at his residence while St Thirsutluo has been entrusted as "Yakusung" (2nd Chief) of the said village.

Continuing their traditional norms which have been observed since time immemorial, the coronation ceremony of the new village chief was marked with special offerings to the new village chief by the villagers followed by offerings of meat to each household of the village and invoking blessing prayers.

As part of the ceremony, 8 cabinet members (Pasakariat) were also coronated apart from Kamsakoi which include St Thirsutluo as Yakusung (2nd chief), S Korsoukhup as Senapati, LK Rangeichung as Mantri, Kh Liankhupsong as Chingshanglak, Alianphun Songthu as Pakhanglak, Kho Rengsinril as Ningollak, Kho Lianeibum as Palsanglak and S Alianrel as Hanyapa.

Speaking at the occasion, new village chief, Kh Kholian Ngir asserted that he along with his cabinet will work hard with utmost sincerity and dedication to ensure Aimol Khullen become a more developed and prosperous village in the near future adding that eradicating social evils like drug menace, preservation of language and culture will be some of the priority areas.
