Health mela, free medical camp conducted

A Health Mela was conducted at the Community Health Centre, Kakching today in connection with Ayushman Bhava campaign of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
The health mela was organised by the District Health Society Kakching in collaboration with Shija Hospitals under the aegis of National Health Mission (NHM) Manipur.
As a part of the programme, the 26th edition of presenting gifts to pregnant women was also held under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), an initiative to provide healthcare comprehensive healthcare facilities to pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Free consultations were provided by specialist doctors in General Medicine, General Surgery, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Dermatology, ENT and Eye to around 130 individuals.

Speaking in connection with the programme, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kakching, Dr Th Rajen said that the health mela has been conducted to provide healthcare facilities to all where free medicines are provided and a number of tests done for free.
He appealed to all to avail the benefits of these health camps.
With regard to PMSMA, State Maternal Health, Nodal Officer Dr Mina Seram said that the campaign is being conducted across the State to provide all possible health benefits to pregnant women.
She also informed that similar programmes will be conducted in the coming days to benefit the pregnant women and new mothers.
Registration of ABHA ID, AB-PMJAY and CMHT was also done during the health mela.
Tengnoupal
A medical camp was conducted at the Health and Wellness Centre, Kwatha today for the people of Kwatha Khunou and Kwatha Khullen.
The medical camp was organised under the sponsorship of Deputy Commissioner Tengnoupal and conducted jointly by Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Moreh and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Tengnoupal.
A team of eight doctors conducted medical examinations for around 150 individuals during the camp and distributed free medicines.
Speaking at the occasion, SDO Moreh Ejaj Hassan assured that the District Administration will provide all possible assistance to villagers of Kwatha and also thanked the visiting doctors for their support.
CMO Tengnoupal Dr J Touthang expressed gratitude to the villagers of Kwatha and assured them to provide all forms of medical support and care.
