Kangpokpi, September 07 2014: Kangpokpi (Kanggui) Area Chief Organization practically enchanted the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen with their appreciation by killing a huge pig for the grand feast which is a symbol of customary style of gratitude here yesterday at District Council Hall, Kangpokpi.

Chongpu Kipgen, MCS, Chief Executive Officer, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi; Seikhomang Khongsai, President, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills; Dr Hatzaw, MS, Kangpokpi Christian Hospital and various church leaders took the dais with the MLA.

Kangpokpi Area Chief Organization President Chonkam Kipgen, while extending his greeting to all participants, said that the function was organized mainly to laud the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen for her remarkable and altruistic service towards her people and constituency, particularly her inconceivable contribution and role in trifurcation of Kangpokpi TD Block recently.

The MLA was presented with Kuki traditional shawl 'Saipikhup', marking her as a responsible Mother of the Constituency and a symbol of gratitude for her generous contribution towards the people.

Speaking on the occasion MLA Nemcha Kipgen said the people had, unfortunately, to do away with Kangpokpi TD Block 2/3 years back when M.Joy Singh, Addl.

Secretary (Revenue), Government of Manipur, by orders and in the name of Governor, issued an order on November 25, 2011 for upgradation of Kangpokpi SDC Circle into Champhai Sub-Division.

"I was awfully shock to learn the unsolicited plan of doing away Kangpokpi TD Block and alienated into Waichong and Champhai Block", asserted the ML.

She added that she took every possible measure to put back Kangpokpi TD Block for the welfare of the people, by conferring with Chief Minister, Home Minister, IFCD minister and PRD&PR Minister of the state including the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati upon the matter.

The MLA expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Home Minister, Gaikhangam and Francis Ngajokpa, RD & PR Minister as well as Ngamthang Haokip, IFC Minister for their contribution.

Without their munificent contribution, she added, Kangpokpi TD Block would have been gone.

She further expressed her gratitude to the Kangpokpi Area Chief Organization, who organized such a remarkable function in appreciation of her role on behalf of the people and remarked, 'I am happy for the function but what makes me more jovial is the people acknowledgement of my indefatigable efforts for the welfare of the people itself' .

The people representatives are here to repair the damaged, put right the erroneous deeds done in the past and also to do thing which was not done before and now, espoused the MLA.

MLA Nemcha Kipgen, in the meantime, said that all necessary procedure has been initiated and Kangpokpi TD Block, once done away with, has been trifurcated on August 11, 2014 .

Consequently, after trifurcation, the Governor of Manipur in Manipur Gazette Extraordinary notified the list of villages to be included in each T.D Block on August 27, added the MLA.

According to the notification, 43 village with a population of 30,282 has been included in Kangpokpi T.D Block while 45 villages with a total population of 21,103 in Champhai TD Block and 49 villages with 20,102 population has been included in T Waichong T.D.Block respectively.

Meanwhile, Kanggui Area Chief Organization on behalf of the people conveyed its gratitude to the Chief Minister O Ibobi ; RD & PR Minister, Francis Ngajokpa and IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip, for their far-fetched contribution towards the people of Sadar Hills and appreciated the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen for her important role in the Sadar Hills' administration.
