Labour Minister inaugurates first session of Awang Sekmai ITI

Skill, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship Minister Heikham Dingo Singh inaugurated the first session of ITI Awang Sekmai on Friday.
The ITI Awang Sekmai is the first institute in the State to offer a Solar Technician Trade course.
The opening ceremony organised by the Directorate of Craftsman Training was attended by Heikham Dingo Singh; Craftsman Training Manipur, Joint Director, Yaiphaba Longjam; Government ITI Sekmai, Principal, Th Premchandra and Khurkhul Gram Panchayat, Chairperson, Irungbam Shanta Singh among others, said a release.
Speaking on the occasion, Heikham Dingo said that the State Government is focused on providing skill development training to the youths to promote entrepreneurship and improve their socio-economic condition.
He asserted that the Government has initiated various skill development programmes to empower the youth with skill sets which make them more employable and more productive in their work environment.
The Minister mentioned that to develop the ITI sector, the Government has been organising various events and training from time to time.
He also encouraged the youths who have received skill development training from ITI to use the knowledge they gain from different experts wisely to become successful entrepreneurs and contribute to the State economy.
Furthermore, Heikham Dingo urged the officials of the Directorate of Craftsman Training to work with dedication to develop the ITI sector in Manipur.
