Senapati cops rescue abducted persons

Imphal, September 06 2012: Senapati district police yesterday rescued two abducted persons and recovered a hijacked Bolero jeep from Taphou area.

According to a release issued by the Senapati SP, some unknown persons abducted T Somorjit and Okram Rohan both from Wangjing, Thoubal district and hijacked a Bolero (ASO 1AV-2357) from near Taphou iron factory on NH-2.Then the unknown persons took Somorjit and Rohan to an unknown location.

On receiving this information, Senapati Police immediately launched a search operation and succeeded in rescuing the abducted individuals in addition to recovering the Bolero at about 8.30 pm.

Though another Bolero (NL-07C/1689) used by the abductors and one mobile phone were also seized, the accused persons escaped taking advantage of the darkness.

Along with registration of a case in Senapati police station, police are searching for the accused persons, added the SP through the press release.
