MSF appeals against bandh/strike

Imphal, July 06 2013 :
Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) has fervently appealed to Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) and other Naga civil societies/student bodies to suspend their decision of calling bandh and general strike in view of the Hr Sec Improvement/Compartmental Examination, 2013 to be conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur starting from July 8 to July 15 .
It may be noted here that KSDC has decided to call a general strike from July 8 to 9 in pursuance of its demand for Kuki statehood while Naga bodies have announced a 24-hour bandh from July 9 in protest against killing of six NSCN (K) cadres by Assam Rifles.
In a statement, Assistant Publicity Secretary of MSF Syed Nawas Khan pointed out that in all 3387 candidates including 786 in Arts, 2412 in Science and 189 in Commerce streams are set to appear in the said examination, which would decide their future career.
