Dimapur, October 05 2015:
NSCN-IM regional office in Phek district of Nagaland has been allegedly raided by the Assam Rifles yesterday and today.
Sources said the 46 Assam Rifles destroyed the properties of the NSCN-IM regional office.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM said it is dismayed and is compelled to condemn the "unwarranted" raids, arrest and destruction of office properties by the 46 Assam Rifles jointly operating with the Para Military special force since October 4 at 11 pm and again at 4 am on October 5, ransacking and destroying the mess of Meluri town command and Pochury region office in Phek district of Nagaland where one US carbine and one 'walkie talkie' set were taken away.
At this crucial juncture of serious political negotiation between the Government of India and NSCN-IM to bring about peaceful a political solution between the two entities, it will be unwise on the part of the Assam Rifles to vitiate the conducive environment by indulging in something which not only violates the ground rules of cease fire agreement but also create confusion.
"Therefore, such act of injecting mistrust and confusion should not be repeated in the future but exhibit political maturity if at all the Assam Rifles honours the ongoing political talks," the NSCN-IM said in a statement.
