The joint body of 13 local clubs, CARD has appealed to the State Government to include Wabagai High School in the list of the high schools to be upgraded to higher secondary.
In this regard, CARD, Wabagai Gram Panchayat, Wabagai Zilla Parishad and Wabagai High School School Management Committee jointly held a press conference on Wednesday at the school campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Wabagai Zilla Parishad Member, M Jayehtakumar mentioned that Wabagai High School was established in 1935 and still has a well maintained campus with all the necessary infrastructures and a large number of students studying in various classes.
Jayentakumar continued that upgrading the school would not only benefit the students of Wabagai but those of the surrounding villages including Arong Nongmaikhong and Laphupat Tera.
The school management and others have been striving for a long time to include Wabagai High School in the State Government's "School Fagathansi Mission" and upgrade to higher secondary.
However, the demand to upgrade the school has been delayed for more than 2 years due to the pandemic, he added.
The Zilla Parishad Member further appealed to the State Government and concerned authorities to include Wabagai High School in the list of schools to be upgraded to Higher Secondary for the welfare of the students of the area.
