Imphal, January 04 2014 :
Chief Mi-nister O Ibobi, after reviewing work progress of the phase-I of Information Technology Park at Mantripukhri a few days back, advised concerned authority to complete the cons-truction work by February 28, 2014 .
According to an official of the park, one main factor for the tardy pace of the construction work is lack of manpo- wer with most of the labourers coming from outside the State.
Nonetheless, IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a major component of the IT complex has already received final approval from the State Cabinet.

This phase would consist of both processing and non-processing sector.
The idea behind the non-processing zone is to generate more revenue which would be utilised for maintenance of the IT Park.
IT Special Economic Zone is the first of its kind in the entire North East India and it would be implemented only after completion of phase-I of the IT Park.
The Special Economic Zone, among others, would include hotels, hospitals and educational institutions.
