Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister N Biren Singh have greeted people on the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba, 2024 .
In his message to the people, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya said the traditional festival of Mera Chaoren Houba preserves and promotes unity and integrity amongst all the communities in Manipur.
This festival through the ages has withstood the test of time and in recent years has become a rallying point for the State's unity and integrity, the Governor said, appealing to the people to celebrate the festival in its true spirit, upholding the tradition of peaceful co-existence in Manipur's pluralistic society.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh too greeted the people on the occasion and said Mera Chaoren Houba is celebrated to preserve and promote unity amongst all communities.
"Today, as we ward off divisive forces trying to disturb the age-old system of interdependence amongst the different communities of the State, the festival could provide a platform to strengthen the bond between the communities," the CM said in his message.
