Lamka, September 02 2011: HDFC Bank, India's second largest private sector bank, inaugurated its branch here at Salem Veng with Power Minister T Phungzathang attending the inaugural function as chief guest.

It is the third branch of the bank inaugurated in the State in recent days.

The new branch promises to offer its customers world-class banking services under one roof ranging from basic services to sophisticated direct access banking channels such as ATM, PhoneBanking, Net-Banking and International Credit and Debit Cards.

The branch will start opening account for customers from Monday, sources said.

The HDFC bank is expected to ease to an extent the banking deficit in this fast growing township.

Meanwhile, Power Minister Phungzathang Tonsing inaugurated a state-of-the-art hybrid operation theatre of the Nazareth Nursing Home early yesterday.

The privately-run maternity and child clinic was the first such facilities introduced in the district and it continues to upgrade its facilities since then.
