Imphal, June 02 2018: A Sub Inspector of Manipur police, posted in the Anti Corruption Cell was killed and another Sub Inspector sustained injuries in a road accident at Kakwa bazar along Asian Highway No 2, Imphal-Moreh road, at around 11 pm yesterday, under Singjamei PS .

According to reliable information, the incident occurred when a two wheeler moped on which the two Sub Inspectors were travelling on met an accident in front of Kakwa Cinema hall.

The source pointed out that both of them were posted at Anti Corruption Cell Manipur police.

Sub Inspector P Bimol (41) s/o Tomba of Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai (who sustained head and chest injuries) and Sub Inspector Kshetrimayum Kapil of Wahengbam Leikai, were rushed to Raj Medicity after the accident.

P Bimol succumbed to his injuries at Raj Medicity last night itself while Ksh Kapil is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The body of Bimol has been claimed by the family members for his last rites after a post mortem at RIMS morgue.

The source mentioned that P Bimol was earlier posted at Singjamei PS before being transferred to Anti Corruption Cell.
