AAI hands ALS Ambulance to Medical Dept

Airports Authority of India (AAI), Imphal Airport handed over a fully equipped Advance Life Saving (ALS) Ambulance to Medical Directorate, Manipur today.
Airport Director, AAI, Imphal Airport, S Senthil Valavan, formally handed over the ALS Ambulance to Medical and Health Services Director, Manipur, Dr K Rajo, during a simple event organized at Imphal International Airport complex, Changangei today.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, S Senthil Valavan conveyed that the fully equipped ALS Ambulance costs around Rs 34.74 lakh and was funded under the AAI, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy.
Further stating that the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Usha Padhee initiated the project, he informed that the main objective of providing the ALS Ambulance is to ensure proper and advanced medical facilities to the people of remote and far flung areas, which are plagued by poor medical facilities.
The ALS Ambulance will also be utilized in ferrying patients from different parts of the State to the airport once it starts operating, the Airport Director said, adding that the Medical Directorate will take full responsibility for proper maintenance and use of the ALS Ambulance.
Dr Rajo lauded the initiative taken up by AAI in the State and exuded confidence that it will go a long way towards filling up the shortage of medical facilities in the State.
