Kite fest held

Imphal, February 02 2014:
Dash Production organised the first Telanga(kite) festival today at Dhobi Lampak, Kongba.
Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the vibrant festival where kite display and kite flying competitions were the major events that caught the people's attention.
Sujeet, a kite enthusiast, designed a six-sided Japanese kite, Rokkaku Dako.
The kite was the talk of the event and went on to win the kite display competition.
Among the others displayed kites, Koi Sheeter and Barn door kites were also included.
Inaobi, a self-professed kite lover, won the kite flying competition.

The organisers expressed satisfaction at being able to celebrate the festival successfully and enthusiastically.
They stated that the main purpose of organising the Kite festival was not only to provide a platform to kite lovers to compete.
It seeks to promote the interest of kite making and flying as well.
Prominent personalities like actor Gurumayum Bonny Sharma, film Director Romi Meitei and Akhu Chinganbam also made their presence felt in the festival.
