State Family Welfare providing optimum health care

To provide optimum medical services to the people particularly those living in rural and tribal areas of the State, Directorate of Family Welfare Services, Government of Manipur has been taking up various steps in field of health care sector.
The Directorate of Family Welfare has made many significant achievements between 2002 and 2016 .
Toijam Mombi received ANM Award (Family Welfare) from the President Pranab Mukherjee on May 12, 2016 for her valuable services to the community.
As per the report in 2002-2003, Tetanus Toxoid Immunization Programme was conducted for pregnant women in Manipur in all the 9 districts.
Various immunization programmes were also conducted by the Directorate for infants such as Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), DPT and BCG vaccine in all the 9 districts of the State.
Pentavalent vacccine which protects a child from 5 (five) life threatening diseases � Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, DPT was launched on October 8, 2015.Of the targeted 44503 infants, 11680 infants were administered pentavalent vacccine in 2015-2016 .
IPV (Inactivated Polio Vaccine) which was launched on April 1, 2016 in Manipur was administered to 2833 infants.
Mission Indradanush programme was also successfully conducted in 3 phases primarily.
In the three phases, 4708 pregnant women were vaccinated.
Mission Indradhanush was launched for children in four districts- Churchandpur, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul district.
With an aim to fully eradicate Polio from the State, Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme was conducted in 9 districts.
Under the UNDP (United Nation Development Programme), Electronic Vaccine Intelligent (eVIN) Network Programme was implemented in Manipur with effect from September 14, 2016 to provide information on vaccine flow, distribution and temperature of all the cold chain points in all the districts of Manipur through eVIN mobile application.
As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, eVIN was introduced to support the manpower at State and district level for smooth implementation and also to improve the efficiency of vaccination management in all the Health Centres and hospitals of Manipur.
Since 1981, the Directorate of Family Welfare has been encouraging people to adopt family planning.
The Government has been also compensating individuals who enrolled for sterilization programme in public and accredited private/NGO hospitals.
From implementing health care programmes to launching of various health care projects, Manipur has been doing well compared to other States of North East India.
