Photography exhibition held

A four-day photography exhibition themed 'Beauty in chaos: A pictorial journey across Manipur' has been inaugurated at Classic Hotel by PHE Minister I Hemochandra today.
Among others Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism M Prithviraj and Commissioner (Tourism) Dr Rajesh Kumar also graced the exhibition inauguration programme.
In his address as the chief guest Hemochandra referring to display of scenic pictures of Manipur in the exhibition highlighted that inspite of unstable law and order situation Manipur is blessed with a number of locations that would certainly captivate tourists.
speaking at the occasion, Prithviraj noted that although Manipur's landscape is abound with natural beauties, tourists are reluctant to visit the State as they feel insecure.
in order to eradicate such a concept and convince the tourists to enjoy Manipur's natural bounty, according warm and cordial reception and showing hospitality would be some positive steps to ensure continuous arrival of tourists, said the Moirang AC MLA.
He also opined that large number of people visiting the just concluded Manipur Sangai Festival at Hapta Kangjeibung is an indication that the masses are determined to project the State in a positive way.
Prithviraj also exuded confidence that organising photo exhibitions on a more frequent basis would be another medium to promote tourism industry in Manipur.
On the otherhand, Dr Rajesh Kumar desired that people of Chandel district too come forward and join the people in promoting tourism industry.
He also suggested that youths of the district take part in various training programme being organised by the Government towards skill development and promotion of tourism.
The photography exhibition is a joint venture of Chandel natives Rashingam Ngoruh and john Monsang, and is sponsored by James Khaling & Sons.
