Senapati, August 01 2021:
Senapati district CSOs including the Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA) and the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) have endorsed the 12 hours total shutdown called by the United Naga Council from midnight of August 2 till 12 noon of August 3 in the district.
It may be mentioned that the UNC had called for a 12 hour "Total shutdown" to demonstrate a strong support to the Framework Agreement and also in protest against its failure to materialise even after prayerfully waiting for 6 long years.
In a press statement issued earlier, the UNC had stated that it would observe the anniversary of the framework agreement while strictly following all the SOPs and guidelines.
It also appealed to the Government of India to respect and honour the 'Framework Agreement' which was signed on August 3, 2015 in New Delhi.
Moreover, Senapati district CSOs also urged to expedite the issue at the earliest and fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people.
The CSOs further cautioned that the total shutdown in Senapati district called by UNC would be enforced strictly and violators would be at their own risk for any eventuality while adding that the CSOs would not bear any responsibility on the matter.
