15th Maj Pagin Kipgen meritorious award

Sadar Hills students who came out with flying colours in the High School Leaving Certificate examination 2013 were honoured with the presentation of cash prize of Rs 1500 each and certificates at the 15th Maj Pagin Kipgen SM Meritorious Award distribution function held on May 31 at Hope Chapel, Parizeus Maranatha Academy, Kangpokpi.
Those selected for the award included 11 top mark achievers from different schools of Sadar Hills and two MIL toppers.
Distribution of the awards, conferred by (L) Maj Pagin Kipgen SM Foundation, a charitable trust, was attended by DK Thangboi (Addl.DC/ Kangpokpi) and Chongpu Kipgen (MCS, CEO, SH-ADC) as the chief guest and functional president respectively while Haokholien Guite (EM, ADC-SH) and Seikhosat Kipgen, (EM, ADC-SH) were the guests of honour.
Former Kangpokpi AC MLA Thangminlen Kipgen, his better half, local church leaders, town committee, parents, guardians, principals, teachers and students also attended the function.
The awardees are Henkholen Khongsai (St.
Vincent's School, Pangmol), Noushi Singsit (Elite Hr Sec School, Kpi), Lamminlal Chongloi (Parizeus Maranatha Academy), Tulsa Poudyel (Emmanuel HS, Haipi), Lalminlun Kipgen (Elite Hr Sec School, Kpi), Krishna Timsina (Emmanuel HS), Anand Bista (Emmanuel HS), L Haokhogin Haokip (St.
Vincent's School), R Shami (Ideal English HS, Charhajare), Jeevan Bhattarai Emmanuel HS), Roselyn Lhingpichong (Diamond English HS, Kpi) .
The two MIL (Nepali) toppers are Soniya Ghemiri (HM Hr Sec School, Keithelmanbi (97 PC) and Jeevan Bhattarai (Emmanuel HS, 97 pc).
While a brief history of (L) Maj Pagin Kipgen was delivered by Ngaimel School, Keithelmanbi principal Hemang Singsit the gathering observed one minute silence in honour of the departed soul.
Noting appreciable decline in cases of students using unfair means in examinations held at Sadar Hills centres compared to high pass percentage, speakers called upon the students for more concerted effort to achieve their cherished goals.
Meanwhile, the 2nd HSLC top 10 Meritorious Award 2013 presentation to be organised by Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills under the sponsorship of Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen will be held at CC Hall, Kangpokpi
on June 3 .
Students of Sadar Hills who secured 75.4 percent and above marks in the HSLC 2013 examination would be eligible for the award.
