Ccpur, April 30 2016 :
The KNLF has today issued a rejoinder to the reported press statement issued by UKLF on April 25 and claimed that the KNLF/KNO accepted that the Kukis are one of the group of the recognised tribal in India and believed in the Kuki movement for political goal; understand and respect all other fellow tribal communities unlike the UKLF who was trust by none due to its past deeds and are not in the good book of the Kukis.
It claimed that in regards to the formation of ADC in respect to Chandel district, the KNLF knew that the majority member INC has formed its Government and is expected to work for the people irrespective of caste and creed.
As an underground organisation, the KNLF never interferes in the State or local Government but instead signed the SoO to find an honourable political solution to the problems of the Kukis.
The organisation has nothing to do with the affairs of a family matter like the case of new Samtal village chieftainship as it considers all Kuki villages as its own units and in no way betrays the Kuki people as has been done by the UKLF.
The KNLF never involves in election matters and it respects the true mandate of the people as it is not a political party recognised by the Election Commission and won't let anyone use its influence in the election to come.
The KNLF is a revolutionary organisation with a clear and definite objective, it asserted.
The KNLF statement also said it won't accept the recent meeting of UKLF with Kuki Chiefs' Association at Standard H/S Sugnu Tribal on April 19 as it was the handiwork of the UKLF for their own interest rather than public interest.
That some of the chiefs present in the meeting revealed that they were coerced to sign papers and the proceedings are dictated by the UKLF as has been done in the past.
The KNLF/KNO got information that Kuki Chiefs' Association of Border Areas ie BAKCA was formed on need basis but not against the district level association and sees no reason for abolishing it.
Instead the interference of the UKLF in the affairs of the Chandel Area Kuki Chiefs' for the past many years should be condemned by all right thinking citizens.
Time has come for the leaders of the UKLF to tell the Kuki chiefs why they are coerced to sign on blank papers.
They must apologise for their action, and the KNLF/KNO cannot take this crime committed to its people by the UKLF very lightly, it said further.
It also appealed to like-minded Kuki revolutionary organisations to co-operate with the KNLF/KNO in restoring the stolen rights of the Kuki chiefs of Chandel.
The KNLF/KNO also appealed to the chiefs concerned not to bow down before any Kuki underground group be it the UKLF or KNLF and work fearlessly in protecting their land and work relentlessly for their peoples' welfare.
Moreover, the clarion call of UKLF supremo SS Haokip for September meeting this year, in matter concerning with the general Assembly election 2017 is but a ploy to suppress the voice of the Kuki people, alleged the KNLF/KNO statement and added that it will not leave the true voice of its people in the hands of the blind and visionless organisation like the UKLF.
