National Re-consolidation Day

United People's Front (UPF) will observe National Re-consolidation Day in commemoration of the 182nd death anniversary of Meidingu Chinglen Nongdrenkhomba (Maharaj Gambhir Singh) on January 9 .
UPF president Soraisam Ratankumar said that a rally would be taken out from the Meidingu's memorial at Langthabal to Hao ground, Singjamei Chingamathak, where the main function would be held.
Saying that reconciliation is the need of the hour, he urged the people of the State to extend monetary, moral and material support to UPF in connection with the observation.
He also all concerned not to call any bandh or general strike on the day.
Ratankumar further said that UPF would conduct the 10th Mega Marathon Manipur 2016 on February 21 .
Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 would be awarded .to first, second and third position winners of both men's and women's categories, he said.
Rs 2000 each would be given as consolation prizes up to 10th position winners, he said.
Saying that UPF would also organise awareness programmes under the theme, 'our children, our future', Ratankumar sought support from local clubs, Meira Paibee bodies and schools in this regard.
