Imphal, October 29 2015:
The corrupted Congress Government would be taken to task in case BJP is elected to power in Manipur, asserted BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba.
Chaoba was speaking at a felicitation function of BJP candidate in Thangmeiband A/C Kh Joykishan held under the aegis of BJP Thangmeiband Mandal at the residence of former MLA Meinam Bhorot.
The Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker has been working at the gestures of Chief Minister O Ibobi.
The disqualification order of the Speaker's Tribunal was reportedly dismissed by Court.
The allegation that huge expenditures have necessitated by inviting by-election is rather ridiculous.
Thangmeiband is not like Hiyanglam.
Money cannot win the election this time.
Jyotin is already out of contention, Chaoba asserted.
Manipur's territorial integrity is being safeguarded by the 18 martyrs of the June, 2001 mass movement.
Chief Minister O Ibobi had met interlocutor RN Ravi in connection with the peace accord signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM.
The accord's framework may have certain points inimical or favourable to the interest of Manipur.
That is the responsibility of the Government.
The three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly may be given assent or rejected.
That too is the responsibility of the Government, Chaoba said.
BJP candidate Kh Joykishan asked the Congress Government if it did anything for Thangmeiband A/C between 2002 and 2015 .
The promises to take up water supply scheme at Lalambung Makhong, construct community hall at Tharon and supply potable water to Koireng village have turned out to be bitter chicanery of the Congress Government.
The Congress party's deceitful practices does not end there.
Some people have started collecting Rs 200 from each household in the name of implementing the National Food Security Act.
But on enquiry, the concerned DC said that there was no such arrangement.
All the 48 Congress MLAs did not speak a word, when Congress MP suggested creation of two Union Territories out of Manipur in the Lok Sabha.
Joykishan said that he would not see disintegration of Manipur as long as he is alive.
Whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up different schemes and programmes for welfare of women and girls, the Congress Government of the State has been engaging in different activities which would only bring misery and sorrow to women and girls.
BJP has been walking on the path of development while Congress has been terrorizing the masses.
Joykishan then accused the Congress Government of threatening State Government employees of Thangmeiband A/C saying that they would be transferred to hill districts if they do not vote in favour of Congress party.
He appealed to all the electorates of Thangmeiband A/C to take the first step towards wiping out Congress party from the soil of Manipur.
BJP State secretary N Nimbus, general secretary (administration) M Ashnikumar and ex-MLA Meinam Bhorot were also present at the felicitation function.
