SFs make four UG cadres arrest

Imphal, June 29 2012: A combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 42 AR arrested one PREPAK activist identified as Kshetrimayum Singhajit (45) s/o Ksh Mangijao of Kakching Moirangthem Leikai from Bijoypur yesterday around 8.20pm and recovered one Chinese made hand grenade from his possession, a statement issued by the Thoubal police claimed.

Meanwhile, Jwalamukhi Battalion Assam Rifles under Red Shield Division apprehended a UNLF cadre from Sekmai Bazar at 12:30 am today.

According to a statement, Jwalamukhi Battalion Assam Rifles launched an operation immediately on getting information about the presence of the cadre who has been identified as SS Lance Corporal Moirangthang Ramchandra (28 ) son of (L) Moirangthang Angang, resident of Wangooyaima, Kombi PS, Bishenpur district and recovered three live rounds of 9mm.The arrested cadre is said to belong to food and supply department of outfit and involved in extortion as well as recruitment in the area.

He was handed over to Sekmai Police Station today.

In a separate incident, a Quick Reaction team of Kangpokpi police arrested one KRA cadre identified as Lamjahao Hangshing @ Abul (21) s/o (L) Lamkhojam of Tingpibung village from old petrol pump of Kangpokpi today at around 3.10 am.

According to a statement issued by the Senapati police, the arrested cadre was trying to extort money from vehicles plying on the NH-2 .

One mobile handset was also recovered from his possession.

In another instance, troops of 27 AR of 9 Sector, IGAR (S) arrested one KCP (Wanglem) cadre identified as SS pvt Md Mustakim (23) s/o Md nejamuddin of Lilong Makha Leikai from Kakching Bazar yesterday.

According to a statement of PRO of IGAR (S), one Chinese hand grenade was recovered from him, who, along with the seized item was handed over to Thoubal PS .
